Magento installation

An active Transdirect Member account. You can sign up for an account at www.Transdirect.com.au

INSTALLATION
Install the plugin under System -> Magento Connect -> Magento Connect Manager
Generate an extension key from the “Transdirect Shipping Extension” in Magento Connect: http://www.magentocommerce.com/magento-connect/transdirect-shipping-extension.html
Paste the key in the text field provided under Install New Extension
click on Install
Click on proceed on the bottom box
You will need to log out and log back in the admin section of magento to see changes reflected and the plugin will be activated.
CONFIGURATION
Basic Setup
Click on System -> Configuration in the Navigation bar in the Admin section.
Click on General Settings in the left side Menu under Transdirect Shipping Module.
Enable the plugin by selecting “Yes” from the drop down menu
You will now need to enter your Member Account details, if you do not yet have a member account you can sign up online here:https://www.transdirect.com.au/education/account-enquiries/
Configure Required Options
Warehouse Address
Enter your “Suburb”. This will be the default address where the courier calculations will base the origin of shipments.
Enter your “Postcode”.
Select if type of Address is “Commercial” or “Residential based on where your your warehouse/pickup point is located.
Default Item Size
Enter in default package dimensions. Default package dimensions will be used if you do not input custom package dimension for a specific package.
Enter in default package weight. Default package weight will be used if you do not input custom package weight for a specific package.
Data Sync Setup
If enabled, the Transdirect plugin will upload order information to your transdirect members area as your customers checkout, allowing for easy booking of your orders.
Quote Options Configuration
Quote Display
Select type of Quote to display, These options will control what quotes are displayed to your clients.
Display All Quotes – This will display all quotes sorted by cheapest to most expensive
Display Cheapest – This will only show a single quote which is the cheapest.
Display Fastest – This will display only a single quote, which is the fastest.
Display Cheapest & Fastest – This will display two quotes, the cheapest quote, and the fastest quote
Please keep in mind that all of these options are applied after the more advanced options available below are applied.
Apply General Surcharge
This adds a fixed $ amount or a % onto the final quotes that displayed, this can be used to cover handling expenses, this can also be used as a negative number with a “-” sign to allow for reduction in average shipping costs.
Fixed price on Error
If this option is enabled, then if we are unable to generate a quote for any reason, rather than displaying an error message to the client, we will display a fixed shipping fee that you have entered here.
Insurance Surcharge
If this option is enabled, then the full value of this shipment will be insured and this cost included in the quote as per the transdirect member terms and conditions.
Advanced Configuration Guide
Disabling Couriers
If you would like to disable quotes from a particular courier service, then you can select the “No” from the dropdown boxes under the “Enable” column. If Disabled, quotes for this courier will not be calculated.
Rename / Group Couriers
The rename feature allows for you to hide the name of the courier, and allow something more user friendly to be displayed in the front end, eg. “Air Express” or “Road Courier”
You can also use this option to Group couriers, if you call multiple services by the same name, then only the cheapest option will be used and displayed. For example, you could call all the same day services “Same Day” and all road services “Road Express”, and your client would get presented with only 2 options during the checkout process.
Surcharge
This allows you to enter a surcharge that will be applied to that specific service, this will be calculated in addition to the global surcharge field above.
Unit
Select whether the surcharge will be computed based on a percentage (%) or applied as a fix amount ($).
Order Boxing
Please note this is advanced functionality, do not enable this if you do not fully understand the implications that this will have on quoting.
This feature is useful for customers that might have a large number of small items which they will box before dispatching.
Multiple packages will be consolidated and computed based on the total dimension and volumetric weight, then spread across different boxes, at the Box size you have set.
Example: 1 item with total volumetric weight of 60kg will be charged against 3 20kg boxes.
Example: 3 items with total volumetric weight of 20kg will be charged against 1x20kg box.
Example: 3 items with total volumetric weight of 50kg will be charged against 2x20kg boxes and 1 10kg box computation.
